Thanksgiving Dishes You (and Everyone) will Love
I’m a very lucky girl. I celebrate two Thanksgivings. As an American living in Canada, I get the pretty sweet deal of having not one but two of what I consider the best holiday meals of the year. And they both couldn’t be more different. Our Canadian Thanksgiving is always just our small family, somewhere quiet like our cottage, and a lot of thoughtfully homemade food. My American Thanksgiving is big. It’s a jammed packed five day trip visiting friends, taking in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and two Thanksgiving dinners: one with friends like family as well as a massive dinner with my extended family. The big family meal can feature multiple turkeys and over 25 homemade pies (Auntie Cathryn, you really are the best!) It doesn’t matter what side of the border I’m on, both my Thanksgiving celebrations are special. Whether big or small, there’s nothing that makes me more thankful than a proper food coma alongside the people I wouldn’t dare discuss politics with but love a whole lot.
To help you celebrate the holiday, we created this roundup of Thanksgiving-worthy sides and desserts. We’re confident you may find a new family tradition or two. To all our American friends, we wish you a table full of people and food you love this Thanksgiving.
