Slow Cooker Candy Clusters for Easter

Slow Cooker Candy Clusters for Easter

There is no shortage of store-bought Easter treats for the bunny to bring. But I always think it’s fun to have something kids don’t see in every store — something the bunny made especially for them. We have a tradition of having traditional Italian Easter bread in my daughters basket. It’s a sweet bread similar to brioche with colored eggs woven in to the braided pattern. I always liked that it was something other than candy. As she got older, we transferred most of her Easter loot to small gifts and snacks: her favorite trail mix or granola, a few special chocolates, a fancy hot chocolate mix or beloved tea, other little things. I’ve even been partial to just making one treat for the basket and these candy clusters are my new obsession and an instant Easter tradition.

How I never thought to make candy in my slow cooker is beyond me? How I never melted chocolate just makes me downright stupid! These were treats I spied on TIK TOK that used dark chocolate, and a whole slew of other extras like pretzels and gummy candies. However, I decided to use white chocolate for Easter and dress them up with our family’s go-to’s of chocolate candies and creme sandwich cookies. You really could sub whatever you like into the chocolate for your family’s ideal salty and sweet combo. For instance, consider pretzels, walnuts, coconut, raisins (although why would you?!), pecans, dried cranberries, the list is endless. You should also definitely try these with a mix of milk and dark chocolate with a little sprinkle of sea salt on top. Then you’ll be way better than the bunny.

Slow Cooker Candy Clusters

If you've never made a dessert in your slow cooker then are you really living?! These clusters have the flavor trifecta of chocolate, peanuts and vanilla from the sandwich cookies. It's hard to decide what's more addictive about this recipe: the ease or the salty/sweet goodness.
