Summer Dips on Global Morning Show
This morning I appeared on Global’s The Morning Show to chat my best summer snack dips. After all, Summer is made for all the best S’s– sun, sea, sand and, obviously, snacks. The long, lazy days of the season are designed for grazing on fresh fruit, vegetables and anything else you can dip into something addictively delicious. Also, is there anything better than settling everyone down for nibbles and cocktails (parents only!) towards the end of the day? We have three dip recipes that are easy to prep, can be made ahead and are so yummy they’re guaranteed to ruin dinner. But really, who wanted to make dinner any way?!
Cheesy Sausage and Pepperoni Dip – If a lasagne and a pizza had a baby this dip would be it’s completely addictive offspring. Be sure to make two if you have to share it with the kids because everyone devours it within minutes. Trust me.

Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the oven to 375 F. Heat olive oil over medium heat in a 10- or 11-inch cast iron or oven safe skillet. Add sausage meat and break-up with a wooden spoon until it has the texture of ground meat and cook until it is no longer pink, about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, add cream cheese, ricotta, parmesan, 1 cup of mozzarella, basil, oregano and garlic powder. Stir until well combined. Add sausage to cheese mix and stir until combined. Pour dip back into cast iron skillet and spread into an even layer. Top with pizza sauce and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle with remaining cup of mozzarella and arrange pepperoni on top.
- Bake in the oven until cheese is melted and edges are browned and bubbling; about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve with slices of toasted baguette or garlic bread.
Grape Salsa – It doesn’t get easier than this fresh dip that is like a cool breeze on a seriously hot day.
