Roundup:What’s So Great About…Fall Staples

We’ve gathered another group of our What’s So Great About columns, some of SPC’s most popular, in order to bring you the nutritional 411 on fall staples. They’re just one more reason to enjoy a return to nesting after all those busy months of summer. And, once we’ve inspired you to work more of these nutritionally dense foods into your menu, feel free to check out some of our recipes incorporating their goodness. I, for one, recommend our sweet potato fries and kale quiche.

Sweet Potato  is a favorite comfort food that you can always rely on for its sweetness but it’s also so great for you.

Pumpkin Seeds are a great snack most don’t even bother to think about. Now you know what to do with what you saved from those Jack-O-Lanterns.

Cranberries are so often only considered around Thanksgiving. However, the nutrtional punch in these little babies carry will have you tossing them in your morning oatmeal or yogurt or just by the handful.

Greens are a brilliant way to get your calcium. Yes you heard us. Calcium.
