What’s So Great About Kiwi?
Can you tell I’m fantasizing about about being somewhere else… perhaps somewhere tropical? If you’re headed to such a place, good for you (said almost totally sincerely!). You should definitely eat the kiwi while you’re there. And the rest of us should do the same despite the frozen tundra… kiwitinis perhaps!
Here’s the scoop on this little green fruit which often gets overshadowed by its fruity friends despite its impressive nutrition profile (hear that orange, let someone else have the spotlight for a quick sec!).
According to everydayhealth.com “research shows kiwifruit is surprisingly nutrient dense… this fuzzy green fruit provides 230 per cent of the recommended daily allowance for vitamin C (almost twice that of an orange), more potassium than a banana, and 10 per cent of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin E and folate. It’s also a good source of fibre.” Plus, did you know that you can eat the skin? I know, eeew, but you totally can!
