Roundup: Apples In Every Meal
It’s not just a convenient snack, apples are a great addition to a long list of recipes for any meal. And, if you’ve recently gone apple picking, you need to deal with a whole lot of apples. Stop giving them out to passer-by’s and pushing them on your neighbours, we’ve got an apple recipe for any meal you need to throw down. Except dessert. For God’s sake, if you want a dessert idea, just eat a damn apple.

Breakfast
Apple Ginger Shake – This shake is not just full of apple goodness. It also has the anti-inflammatory benefits of ginger. You can just tell your kids it’s a gingerbread apple. That’s a thing, right?
Apple Pie Pancakes – I’m going to say something big here. These are my favourite pancakes on this blog. Did you hear that? A big statement from a pancake fanatic, but it’s the truth. Make them on the weekend and reheat them in the toaster oven on a busy morning and you’ve got yourself the makings of breakfast bliss. I’m just sayin.
Lunch
Grilled Ham, Apple and Cheese Sandwich – I know. You’ve heard of ham and cheese before but toss a few slices of apple inside and grill the whole lot and your kid’s will eat their whole lunch. Am I overstating that?
Grilled Cheese with Garlic Apples – I’m not going to lie but your kids need to have a bit of a palette to roll with the idea of apples sautéed in garlic in their grilled cheese but why not give it whirl–Just stuff a few in and cross your fingers. Worst thing that happens? You get to eat the leftovers.
Dinner
Turkey Meatloaf with Apple and Sage – I rely on this recipe all the time. I love making them in a muffin pan so I portions ready to freeze.
Not So Spicy Apple Chicken Curry – This dish is a great way to introduce your family to curry without scaring them off with overwhelming spice. Plus the addition of apples help the deliciousness go down.
Snack
Apple and Pear Oat Bars – Chewy, soft and with a double shot of fiber. My daughter loves to find these bars in her school snack pouch. And, according to her, so do the friends she shares them with.
Spiced Apple and Pumpkin Muffins – As soon as someone says “pumpkin” I’m in and these muffins had me at apple.
