Five Best Strawberry Recipes!
I’m going to be honest, I buy berries all year long. We eat them almost every morning, whether they’re on top of granola or porridge or rolled up into a nut butter breakfast wrap, I pack them in lunches and dole them out as after school snacks. Do I love the berries we eat in January. Meh. They’ll do. But now. Now is the time for amazing local berries. The small-ish, red-all-the-way-through gems that populate the stores now are the ticket. They’re sweet and taste like — wait for it! — strawberries. So, do not miss the window. There are a million ways to enjoy them — here are just a few of our faves.
Strawberry and Banana Nice Cream. An ice cream that doesn’t require a machine? Yes, please! This fresh creamy treat comes together so easily you’ll be making it once a week this summer.
This Quick Strawberry Jam means you can save the sweet flavour of in-season strawberries for a little while longer. Honestly, you won’t believe how easy this is.
Is this the ultimate summer dessert? It just might be. This is our version — kind of the slider of Strawberry Shortcakes. They’re small scale so if you feel like having two or three, we say go for it — summer is short!
This is our favourite way to make a pie. Crotatas are naturally imperfect, which works for us! Plus, the little hole in the middle allows the beautiful fruit inside shine through.
Add a little sweetness to your next taco (or chip or grilled chicken or… you get the idea) with this amazing strawberry salsa.
