Karine is Thinking Green
Have I mentioned that gardening is one of my least favourite things to do? And it honestly has nothing to do with that fact that I have a bit of a black thumb (which I do). No, it’s about the dirt under my nails, the bugs (especially the ones that bite and/or sting me) and the fact that weeding is tedious and seemingly useless (they all seem to reappear the very next day!). Add the critters that eat my plants (I refuse to use pesticides and I know there are natural ways to keep them at bay but I have had zero success with them), and I find the whole darn thing unpleasant and not at all relaxing or satisfying in any way.
But I love love love fresh flowers, fruits, vegetables and herbs so much that every year, my kids and I get out our indoor seed kit and plant everything from asparagus to zinnias. Once we move them outside, I spend the rest of the growing season swearing under my breath, vowing never to do it again. And then spring rolls around and I start the process all over again.
As we watch our indoor garden grow, I am dreaming of making these amazingly, gloriously green recipes.
